Timber should not be wet and dried quickly if it accidentally gets wet. 
Acrylic is a strong material, when it is cut into smaller pieces it can weaken in areas, mainly around the text. 

Also, please be aware that when letters like G, B, D etc are cut out of material, the inner parts of the letters are also removed, resulting in a larger gap than normal. This is the nature of cutting out of material.
