How to use a Cappuccino Stencil Effectively:
1. Start with a flat milk surface
– Froth your milk until it’s smooth and velvety, then pour it gently to create a level surface for your stencil design.
2. Hold the stencil close to the surface
– Position the stencil about 1–2 cm above the coffee. The closer it is, the crisper the design will be.
3. Use dry powder
– Stick to dry toppings like cocoa powder, cinnamon, or nutmeg. Wet powders or clumpy cocoa can ruin the pattern.
4. Use a fine mesh shaker
– A small, fine-mesh sieve or shaker helps sprinkle powder evenly. Avoid dumping powder directly from a spoon or packet.
5. Apply powder lightly
– Gently tap or shake the powder over the stencil. Less is more — too much can cause smudging or sink into the foam.
6. Remove stencil carefully
– Lift the stencil straight up and away to prevent smudging the design.
7. Clean between uses
– Wipe the stencil clean with a dry cloth between cups to keep designs crisp and avoid residue buildup.
